Many people suffered hereditary madness (“hilo-an”), mental illnesses and schizophrenia. But they keep it secret fearing rejection from the society. In Biliran Island, drugs are abundant and seventy percent of their inhabitants are using illegal drugs while old folks are using this that it triggers to commits adultery and un-faithlessness among wives and husband.
Coupled with hereditary mental illnesses, rape and murder are now rampant in Naval Biliran.
